This is a flat of about 40 square metres for a couple, in a new building beside a park in Wrocław, fitted out by Ukłon Studio around one piece of joinery: oak stained a reddish shade that runs from the hall through the living room into the bedroom and doubles as the storage. The studio's own line is "Centralnym punktem tego wnętrza jest dębowa zabudowa stolarska, barwiona na rudawy odcień", the centrepiece of the interior is the oak joinery, stained a reddish shade; the reeded-glass doors into the bedroom are set into the living room's shelving unit, so the bedroom is seen here from the living room.
Almost everything wooden was designed for the flat: the shelving unit, the kitchen joinery in a darker oak with beige ceramic tiles, the wardrobes, the bedside tables and the bed's softly green headboard, which the studio pairs with powder-pink curtains. The sofa is by Sits, the coffee table by Audo Copenhagen and the lamps New Works' Margin, and the pictures are the owners' own, among them an original linocut by Joanna Tumiłowicz over the table and a print of a tree trunk on handmade paper by Maja Komorowska in the bedroom.
Ukłon Studio
Ukłon Studio is the Warsaw practice of Joanna Hutna and Dorota Żak, who met at the Faculty of Architecture at Warsaw University of Technology and work across interiors, graphics and handicraft, taking projects from concept through to site supervision.
