Tuki desk

The Tuki Desk is part of the Tuki series, the range its maker, Melbourne furniture workshop Tide Design, calls its most popular. The desk here is Tasmanian Oak, and its band holds three drawers, not the two this angle suggests; the two to the right foreshorten almost into one. On the hidden rear face, drop-down doors pass cables through the back.
Each is made to order in the Huntingdale workshop, in four lengths and four timbers, on a wait of ten to twelve weeks. Posted in November 2023.
Tide Design
Tide Design is a furniture workshop in Huntingdale, Melbourne, founded in 2007 by George Harper, a New Zealand born designer who left an office career in his mid thirties and retrained in furniture design and making at Box Hill Institute. He still designs every piece; a small team makes them with him, to order.
