A hand holding a small silver recorder with a circular tape reel and a screen reading MEMO, on a plain pale grey ground.

TP-7

TP-7 is a pocket sized audio recorder by teenage engineering, revealed in May 2023 and sold in aluminium and black: a slab the size of a palm with a motorised disc at its centre that the maker calls a tape reel, though the recordings go to 128 gigabytes of internal memory, with three two-way jacks for microphones and headsets, an internal microphone and speaker, and a small monochrome screen. The reel is the idea; in the maker's own words, "the reel is also used for scrubbing, scratching, pausing, menu navigation and as gentle visual feedback during playback and recording." One press of the memo button turns the recorder on and starts it recording, and, again in the maker's words, "TP–7 fits perfectly in the palm of your hand, with controls that feel intuitive and natural."

The card is the third of the post's ten frames: the silver recorder held upright in a hand against a pale grey ground, the big circular reel filling its face with a small dark hub at the centre, the TP-7 name printed at the top corner, the screen reading MEMO over a count of thirty seconds, two square buttons at the bottom and the red record lamp lit on the near edge.
