A hand tool woodworker's storage wall, floor to ceiling in nine modules, built by Kurt Thomas Kompelien for his own workshop and rebuilt as his kit changes, a project he calls never ending. The logic is his own, stated plainly: no more than one thing to move to reach any tool, a missing tool visible at a glance, never more than a second to find one. The price he names is that a cabinet cut to hold specific tools in specific positions is hard to change, which is why it is built in modules, so one can be reworked at a time.
The photograph is the latest rearrangement, posted in December 2025 with a plan to try this set up for a year or two.
