Zapopan

The main furniture piece of Tienda MAZ, the shop of the Museo de Arte de Zapopan, designed by the Guadalajara workshop Joselo Maderista and photographed by the maker in November 2025. It is, in the words of the workshop, a self supporting and flexible system, able to adapt to different pieces and moments: plywood fins, shelves and cabinet boxes slotted together with plywood keys, and black steel clips that hook over a shelf edge to carry a hanging rail.

The shop opened that month inside Estación MAZ in Zapopan Centro, selling seventeen Jalisco design projects alongside makers from five other Mexican states.

Joselo Maderista

Joselo Maderista is a carpentry workshop founded in Guadalajara in 2012, bringing carpenters, designers and architects together around solid timber furniture, with showrooms in Mexico City and Guadalajara. Its ongoing strands run from architect designed furniture to lighting and marquetry, and to Árboles Urbanos, fallen city trees turned into furniture.
