T-Haus (勾配天井の２階リビングの家)

T-Haus is the code MAGHAUS gives the house it names 勾配天井の２階リビングの家, the house with a sloping-ceiling upstairs living room: a timber post-and-beam house in Hiyodori-Minamidai in Toyama City, finished in September 2020 for a couple with one child, and designed and built by the company itself. The living room was put upstairs so that the neighbouring houses could not block its light, which comes in through the windows and a skylight, and this is that room.
The dining table is built in, and the counter under the window is what MAGHAUS captions 「窓に面した読書コーナー」, a reading corner facing the window; the company says the built-in dining counter and the reading space let each person spend time as they please, so the family is likely to gather there without being asked. The floor is solid oak, and the rest of the house holds an inner garage, an open tatami space in line with the kitchen, dining and living room, and shoji screens.
MAGHAUS
MAGHAUS is the new-build housing brand of Yunite, a Toyama City company that began as a sole trader in 1989, was registered in 1996 and opened the brand in 2009. It is a registered first-class architects' office as well as a builder, and it builds only within Toyama Prefecture.
