Myrtle Bank

The front garden of a new single storey Adelaide house, titled Myrtle Bank for its suburb by Easton Design Studio, designed around Murray Britton's architecture and built for South Australia's heatwaves without asking for constant attention: permeable surfaces of limestone, gravel mulch and hardwood, with santolina, tall verbena, lomandra and everlastings holding the beds.
The owners bought the property in 2015 and began the new house four years later, asking for something a little wild and colourful with a sense of discovery. The cream wall in the picture is bagged brick, not rendered masonry. DuBois Building built the house, O'Malley Outdoor Creations built the garden, and Nat Easton photographed it for The Design Files, which published the story in February 2026.
Easton Design Studio
Easton Design Studio is a family landscape and pool design studio in South Australia, started in 2016 by Tom Easton, who holds a Diploma of Landscape Design and a Bachelor of Environmental Science, with Nat Easton running the business side.
