Mulloway
Mulloway is a house type that Otetto sells off the plan, and this room is a computer visualisation of it drawn in 2023 by Charles Choi and Narae Ki of Choi Render, not a photograph of anything built. The company calls it "a modern design with Australian vernacular roots, inspired by the simplicity, functionality and beauty of traditional farm buildings", and it is made to fit small and large lots and flat and sloping blocks, as one storey or two.
Otetto says "The underpinning concept is a central walkway, from which various rooms branch off." The walkway holds the storage, the roof changes height to mark out zones and to collect water, and the north-facing sides carry eaves for summer shade and winter sun. The walls are hempcrete, in the company's own Living Canvas panels of Australian-grown hemp, which it describes as suited to climates from arid to tropical and to bushfire prone areas.
Otetto
Otetto is an Australian company building homes around its own hempcrete panel walling system, founded by Amanda Marsh, Harrison Marsh and Chris Ball. Elliot Marsh, a registered architect, is its design lead. Mulloway, Corymbia and Lomandra are its three off-the-plan designs.
