Mountain Camp
Wasatch Mountains, Utah
Mountain Camp is a new house in Utah's Wasatch Mountains, finished in 2025 for a couple in their 60s who wanted a gathering place for friends and family and a refuge after long days of skiing and hiking. The interiors are by Elizabeth Rose Jackson Interiors and the building by Nick Noyes Architecture, planned as two wings, a dark timber-clad one for the shared rooms and a stone-clad one for the bedrooms, joined by two glazed connectors around a courtyard. The owners are longtime patrons of the arts and asked for rooms that could hold their collection.
The floors are wide oak and the walls and ceilings stained hemlock, and the kitchen pairs honey-toned wood with cabinetry described as British-inspired green, crackled ceramic tile behind the range. Elizabeth Rose Jackson describes the whole scheme as "an interior of paired contrasts: an interplay of British and American camp references, tactile furnishings upholstered in rich fabrics, and whimsical fixtures set against a rugged natural backdrop."
