Floating Leaves
Floating Leaves is a series of botanic photographs printed on transparent foil, designed by Norm Architects with Moebe and Paper Collective in Copenhagen in 2017 to sit inside the Moebe Frame, so that each leaf seems to float in the air. In Moebe's own words: "This series of botanic photography has been created especially for the Moebe Frame, and is produced through a special printing technique onto transparent film." The frame is four wooden lists, two pieces of acrylic and a rubber band that both holds it together and hangs it, and the A3 prints are sold to slip between the acrylic; after Norm Architects' earlier Sabi Leaves prints about time and weathering, this series shows, as the seller puts it, "botanical leaves at various stages of fresh green beauty and decay". Paper Collective announced the series in July 2017 and the card's post is a seller's restock that October; the series has since left the makers' own shops, though Paper Collective still sells the four Sabi Leaf prints that came before it.
The card is the last frame of the seller's own post: four of the prints in oak Moebe frames hung from the ceiling on thin cords in a white room, each frame gathered at the top by its black rubber band, the leaves seeming to hang in the air against the windows, with a large plant in the corner below.
Norm Architects
Norm Architects is a Copenhagen studio founded in 2008 that works across architecture, interiors and products. Its Heatherhill Beach House is also in this library, and its own site does not carry this print series today.
Moebe
Moebe is a Copenhagen design studio formed in 2014 by the architects Martin de Neergard Christensen and Nicholas Oldroyd with the cabinet maker Anders Thams, working from a studio workshop on Amager; its Frame is what these prints were made for.
Paper Collective
Paper Collective is a Copenhagen studio bringing art, design and social impact together, trading since 2013 and printing in Denmark.
