A two-storey mass timber addition to a workers' cottage on a site just five metres wide, designed to pull morning light deep into the plan while tempering the western sun. The roof rakes at 64 degrees, and the addition puts 71 square metres behind the 63 square metre cottage.
The picture is a render, not a photograph: planning is approved, and as of August 2026 the practice lists the project as commencing construction.
A Perth architecture practice founded in 2019 by Craig Nener, who worked at Herzog & de Meuron in Basel and London. Its Shadow House took a national commendation in the 2025 Australian Institute of Architects awards.
